Accreditation & Proficiency Programs

Hygeia Laboratories Inc. was granted accreditation by the American Industrial Hygiene Association's (AIHA) EMLAP for Environmental Microbiology on January 1, 2005. The Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP) is specifically for labs identifying microorganisms commonly detected in air, fluids, and bulk samples during indoor air quality studies. Furthermore, Hygeia Laboratories has participated in the AIHA's Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) program since February of 2003. Hygeia Laboratories was granted licensing by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Mold Analysis Laboratory on March 10, 2005. All laboratories analyzing mold samples relating to indoor air quality that originate in Texas must be registered and licensed with Texas DSHS. Our laboratory identification number is LAB#0148.
